Sorry...

Sorry, I don't mean to drone on and on about this. But a good friend of mine, who also happens to be a doctor, just told me that an ectopic pregnancy is one of the few true emergencies in life. Up there with a heart attack or stroke. I had NO idea it was that serious! I know it felt like hell though!

P.S . You do realize that the whole distance runner, wonderfully low resting heart rate thing is now on my permanent medical record, right? Just making sure.

Oh yeah! It is TOTALLY dangerous if they don't catch it! Kind of like Appendicitis.. if they don't catch it, and it explodes.. you are in a world of trouble! We are all glad you are safe!

It is surreal, to find out how close you were to real tragedy after the fact. I remember being told how life threatening my blood infection was after the fact and I was so glad that I hadn't realized at the time. I think I would have freaked out.

I was telling Ben in an easy-going, matter-of-fact way how you'd had this ectopic pregnancy, had surgery, blah blah blah, you're fine now. He informed me quickly that it was quite a seriouc thing and had an aunt who passed away because of that some years ago. I was in shock! I am SO GLAD you were in a hospital! I just can't even imagine. I'm still in shock, I think.
